Same wild performance, sharper race-inspired livery for KTM’s flagship mid-weight naked

What’s new on the 2026 KTM Duke 990?

For 2026, the big news is visual: KTM has introduced a new livery that blends white, black, and bright orange, inspired by classic KTM racing and street liveries. The familiar sharp tank shrouds, low-set LED headlamp, and compact tail section remain, but the fresh graphics give the Duke 990 a more premium and aggressive showroom presence.

KTM has confirmed that the European model keeps the same mechanical package as the current 990, meaning there are no changes to the frame, engine, or core hardware. This “dress-up, not tune-up” approach is aimed at riders who already love how the bike rides and simply want a more distinctive, head-turning look.

Engine and performance

Under the new colors, the 2026 Duke 990 continues with KTM’s 947 cc LC8c parallel-twin engine. This motor produces around 123 hp and 103 Nm of torque, delivering strong mid-range punch, rapid roll-on acceleration, and engaging performance for both spirited street riding and occasional track days.

The compact twin is packaged in a way that keeps the bike slim and manageable, which helps the Duke feel playful and light-footed in tight urban environments. Combined with its relatively low weight, this powertrain makes the 990 Duke one of the most potent and accessible mid-capacity naked bikes in KTM’s European lineup.

Chassis, electronics, and hardware

The 2026 model retains the steel trellis frame that balances rigidity and feedback, giving a direct connection between rider input and the front tyre. Suspension duties are handled by WP Apex units at both ends, typically fully adjustable in this class so riders can fine-tune preload, compression, and rebound for their weight and riding style.

Electronics continue to be a highlight, with features such as multiple riding modes, traction control, and cornering ABS remaining central to the Duke 990’s character. Lean-sensitive systems, advanced ride-by-wire throttle, and a modern TFT display support both everyday commuting and weekend performance riding, enhancing safety and confidence in varying conditions.

New colorway and design appeal

The new white-black-orange combo paint scheme is more than just a cosmetic tweak; it is designed to connect visually with KTM’s older racing models and the early Duke generations. This heritage-inspired livery helps the bike stand out in showrooms and on the street, giving existing fans a fresh reason to upgrade and new riders a bold first impression.

Price and availability in Europe

For the European market, the 2026 KTM Duke 990 with the new livery is priced around €12,990 before local taxes and registration costs. This positions it as a strong value proposition in the mid-weight naked segment, especially considering its power output, electronics package, and premium hardware.

The model has been officially confirmed for Europe, with dealers expected to receive stock as part of the 2026 model year roll-out. Interest is also high in other markets, and there is strong speculation that the same colorway could be introduced in regions like India later, especially with closer collaboration between Bajaj and KTM.
