The newly launched Hero Xtreme 160 4V with Cruise Control is a feature rich upgrade in the 160cc motorcycle segment, making touring more comfortable and convenient. Priced at around ₹1.34 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), this variant introduces a ride-by-wire throttle system enabling cruise control, along with three riding modes – Rain, Road, and Sport, plus a fresh LED headlamp design and a color LCD instrument cluster.

Key Features and Technology

The standout feature of this Hero Xtreme 160 4V variant is the cruise control system enabled by the advanced ride-by-wire throttle, a technology previously seen in the Hero Xtreme 125R and Glamour X. This system manages a smooth throttle response and stable cruising, reducing rider fatigue on long highway rides. The bike also offers three selectable riding modes to tailor performance to road conditions: Rain for safer control on slippery surfaces, Road for everyday riding, and Sport for enhanced power delivery. Switching between these modes is convenient via updated switchgear controls on the handlebars.

In terms of instrumentation, the bike now sports a new color LCD cluster that supports Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, and call alerts, borrowed from the premium Xtreme 250R model. The LED headlamp has also been redesigned for a sharper and modern aesthetic, enhancing both style and visibility.

Performance and Specifications

The Hero Xtreme 160 4V retains its robust 163.2cc single-cylinder, 4-valve, air-oil-cooled engine, producing a maximum power of around 16.9 PS at 8,500 rpm and torque of 14.6 Nm at 6,500 rpm. This engine, paired with a smooth 5-speed gearbox, delivers agile and refined performance suitable for both city commuting and highway touring. The bike is equipped with dual-channel ABS for enhanced braking safety and 37mm KYB USD forks for front suspension, contributing to a stable and confident ride.

Pricing and Market Position

This upgraded variant is priced at approximately ₹1.34 lakh, adding a premium of about ₹4,485 over the standard Hero Xtreme 160 4V. With its array of advanced features like cruise control and riding modes, which are segment first. The motorcycle positions itself as one of the most tech loaded 160cc bikes available, appealing to riders looking for modern convenience and performance.
