BMW F450 GS 12

The BMW F 450 GS has already been officially unveiled at EICMA 2025 in Milan, positioning it as BMW’s newest mid capacity adventure motorcycle for global markets. Multiple reports indicate that the India launch is planned for early 2026, with some dealers already taking unofficial bookings ahead of the formal price announcement.

Engine and performance

Powering the BMW F 450 GS is a newly developed 450 cc parallel‑twin, liquid‑cooled engine tuned to produce around 48 hp and 43 Nm of torque, placing it perfectly in the popular mid capacity ADV segment competiting with Honda NX500. The motor is paired with a 6 speed gearbox and electronics like easy‑ride clutch and quickshifter, making it smoother and more convenient in both city traffic and long distance touring.

Key features and technology

The bike is built around proper adventure hardware, including long‑travel suspension, a 19 inch front and 17 inch rear wheel setup, dual‑purpose tyres, and a kerb weight of about 178 kg. It also gets a 6.5‑inch TFT display with connectivity, riding modes, heated grips, adjustable levers and multiple variants, giving buyers a mix of comfort, safety and touring practicality.

Design and ergonomics

Styling of the F 450 GS is inspired by the larger BMW R 1300 GS, with a tall stance, signature GS beak, LED lighting and a purposeful ADV silhouette. An 845 mm seat height, 14 litre fuel tank and ergonomics tuned for highway cruising as well as broken roads and light trails.

Expected price and rivals

In India, the BMW F 450 GS is expected to be priced around ₹5 – 5.50 lakh ex‑showroom, making it one of the most premium but feature rich mid capacity ADVs in its class. It will compete with bikes like the KTM 390 Adventure, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and Honda NX500, while offering the appeal of a twin‑cylinder BMW made in partnership with TVS at Hosur.
